Troy and Vogue Journey e-bike recall in final phase: implement improvements almost complete
In recent months, in response to the September 2024 safety warning, we have worked closely with the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) and independent experts to thoroughly investigate the Vogue Journey and Troy e-bikes. The models were tested according to new, stricter standards to determine the cause of the problems and implement a sustainable solution. Improvement plans have been drawn up for both models according to the new European standard (the EN17860:2024 standard), which comply with applicable laws and regulations. Meanwhile, the final phase of the recall of the Troy and Vogue Journey models has begun: implementing the improvements.
We have been working hard recently to get consumers back to using their e-bikes as soon as possible. We felt it was important to carry out this process carefully, thereby providing a safe, sustainable solution. By now, almost all owners of the registered e-bikes have been contacted to make an appointment for FietsPechPas to perform the improvements.
The final stage: implementing improvements
To ensure that consumers can get their e-bikes back on the road as quickly as possible, we are working with an outside party, FietsPechPas, a professional and experienced party in the bicycle industry. They will perform the improvements at consumers' homes. FietsPechPas has more than 15 years of experience and specializes in fast and skilled on-site bicycle repair. FietsPechPas contacts consumers themselves to make an appointment. They do this using the e-mail address consumers provided when they registered on bakfietscheck.com.
