Update Troy and Vogue Journey e-bikes
On 18 September 2024, we issued a safety warning for Troy and Vogue Journey models due to reports of some incidents of frame breakages. For safety reasons, we subsequently took the initiative to call on consumers to register their Troy and Vogue Journey e-bikes for frame reinforcement to prevent breakages. In addition, the Vogue Journey has additional improvements that need to be carried out. These include renewing the gas spring and seat post.
Where do we stand now?
Over the past weeks, we have been working hard to test possible options to reinforce the frame. The next step is now to have this assessed by an independent test institute. After a positive assessment by the test institute, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) will also evaluate. After a positive assessment from both parties, we can start installing the reinforcement to your bicycle. For the Vogue Journey, the gas spring and seat post will also be renewed immediately and free of charge.
We understand that you want to know when the improvements to your bike will be implemented. We are working hard with a dedicated team, and together with our suppliers, the independent test institute and the NVWA, to get this process up and running as soon as possible. However, safety always comes first. It is therefore important that this is done carefully and that we can be sure that we offer you not only a safe, but also a sustainable solution.
What are the next steps?
We fully understand that this period during which you cannot use your e-bike causes inconvenience. For this, we sincerely apologize. We are doing all we can to get you back on the cycle path as soon as possible. In the coming period, we will keep you informed about the ongoing process through regular e-mail updates and via www.bakfietscheck.com
