Periodic maintenance

Periodic maintenance on your cargo bike

It is very important to perform periodic maintenance on cargo bikes and to record these service intervals accurately. Periodic maintenance of cargo bikes should start after the first 3 months or after 500 kilometers of use, whichever comes first. Thereafter, maintenance should take place every 6 months or after every 500 kilometers, depending on the intensity of use and riding conditions. This is essential both for consumer safety and to maintain the warranty. Make sure all maintenance is accurately recorded, as this may be required for warranty claims.

What is checked extra carefully during maintenance?

  • Frame inspection
The frame of your cargo bike is thoroughly inspected.
  • Checking the brakes and mechanical parts
Our cargo bikes range from budget models with mechanical brakes to higher-end models with hydraulic brakes. Models with mechanical brakes, although excellent, require more regular maintenance. For cargo bikes with mechanical brakes, it is important to adjust them every 500 kilometers or every 6 months and replace the brake pads, depending on wear and tear. For cargo bikes with hydraulic brakes, the brake pads should be replaced after every 1,000 kilometers, depending on wear and use. In addition, the brake cables are checked for oxidation, as cargo bikes are often left outside in the rain. Regular checks are essential to ensure optimal functionality of the brakes.

Maximum load

Proper use
Overloading, commercial use or other improper use of the cargo bike may result in damage and void the right to warranty.
